Portland Community College is the largest post-secondary institution in Oregon and 19th largest in the nation, serving approximately 80,000 full- and part-time students. With four comprehensive campuses, five workforce training and education centers, and 200 community locations in the Portland metropolitan area, our unique role is to make high-quality education accessible to everyone, creating opportunities for our students and contributing to the economic development of our community.

Casual positions at Portland Community College have a working hour limit per fiscal year. Please see the Casual Employment at PCC section below for more details.

The casual Corrections Education Associate is an important part of the Corrections Education team, providing program continuity in our ABE/GED and Work-Based Education programs at Coffee Creek Correctional (Wilsonville), Columbia River Correctional (near the Portland airport), and South Fork Forest Camp (Hwy 6 on the way to Tillamook). Education and/or corrections experience is preferred, but training is provided.

The Corrections Education Associate provides front-line services to current incarcerated students by covering full-time staff who are on vacation or other forms of leave or supplementing staffing needs. The position will be asked to cover multiple programs such as Computer Lab and Tutoring, the Eyeglass Program, and the Cosmetology Program. The duties of the job will vary based on the area of programming where coverage is needed and to which the employee has been assigned. Content expertise in these program areas is not required since instruction is not part of this role. Coverage assignments will be matched based on candidate strengths and institutional needs.

Please note: This is an interest pool. Qualified applicants will be contacted when opportunities become available.
