Job Description and Requirements for: Specialty Vehicle – Production


Specialty Vehicle refers to RV, Marine, Golf Car, and non-standard Powersport vehicles.


Reports to: General Manager

Position: Full-Time

The Specialty Vehicle Production position is responsible for the safe, efficient, and accurate preparation, movement, staging, and processing of Specialty Vehicles for auction. The position requires good communication skills, attention to detail, the ability to operate various equipment, and a willingness to assist with general production needs as directed.


Basic Responsibilities

  • Always be courteous and respectful to internal and external customers.
  • Always dress and conduct yourself in a professional manner when representing the company on and off site.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Operate vehicles, forklifts, and other equipment safely and only for their intended purposes.
  • Immediately notify the local GOM or Manager of any safety-related concerns.
  • Ask questions when unsure of a process, procedure, or assignment.
  • Check in and out with the local GOM or Manager at the beginning and end of the daily shift when working offsite from the corporate offices.
  • Follow all rules and regulations outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Maintain a positive, professional, and team-oriented attitude.
  • Be willing to assist coworkers and other departments as needed.
  • Communicate any discrepancies, damage, missing items, or process concerns to the appropriate Manager.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Job-Specific Responsibilities – Specialty Vehicle Production

  • Receive Specialty Vehicles and verify the unit against available information and assigned work.
  • Review Specialty Vehicles for required production needs and communicate any additional needs to management.
  • Power wash Campers, Boats, Trailers, RVs, Golf Cars, and other Specialty Vehicles within the required production timeframe.
  • Clean and prepare Specialty Vehicles for auction according to company standards.
  • Organize, maneuver, and assist with loading and unloading Campers, Boats, Trailers, RVs, and other Specialty Vehicles.
  • Safely operate a forklift and other equipment as required and authorized.
  • Remove and properly tag personal property found inside Campers, Boats, Trailers, and RVs.
  • Assist with moving and staging Specialty Vehicles for auction.
  • Verify that Specialty Vehicles are properly labeled and that keys are present and properly secured.
  • Verify that vehicles have sufficient fuel or other required conditions for processing.
  • Identify and communicate any apparent mechanical, cosmetic, or operational concerns to management.
  • Assist with identifying Specialty Vehicle preparation or repair needs and communicate those needs to the appropriate Manager.
  • Assist with final preparation and presentation of Specialty Vehicles prior to sale.
  • Ensure Specialty Vehicles are properly positioned and prepared for sale and numbering.
  • Assist with post-sale movement, breakdown, or follow-up activities as directed.
  • Maintain accurate and organized work areas, equipment, and Specialty Vehicle staging areas.
  • Complete assigned production tasks within established timeframes and company standards.

Communication and Teamwork

  • Work cooperatively with other production employees and departments.
  • Communicate clearly with management regarding unit status, production needs, damage, missing items, or other concerns.
  • Assist coworkers with production tasks when needed.
  • Follow direction from the General Manager, GOM, or other authorized management personnel.
  • Maintain a professional and positive attitude while working with employees, dealers, lenders, transporters, and other customers.
  • Be willing to learn and perform different Specialty Vehicle production tasks as business needs require.

Position Requirements

  • Must be able to safely operate or learn to operate a forklift and other equipment used in Specialty Vehicle production.
  • Must be comfortable working around RVs, boats, trailers, golf cars, motorcycles, and other non-standard vehicles.
  • Must have the ability to safely move, clean, inspect, and prepare Specialty Vehicles for auction.
  • Must have basic computer skills and the ability to learn company systems and applications.
  • Must have good communication and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work independently while following established procedures and management direction.
  • Must be able to safely perform the physical requirements of the position, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, climbing, and working around large vehicles and equipment.
  • Must maintain a dependable attendance record and arrive prepared to work scheduled shifts.
  • Must follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
