The ITE team develops custom software solutions that support the IAM organization and critical access management, governance, certification, compliance, and automation capabilities.
This role is responsible for the hands-on design, development, implementation, and support of enterprise applications and feature enhancements. The successful candidate will partner with engineering teams, business stakeholders, architects, product owners, and technology leadership to deliver innovative, secure, scalable, and high-performing IAM solutions. The position requires a strong technical leader with deep software engineering expertise, an Agile mindset, and the ability to influence technical direction across multiple teams.
In this role, you will:
- Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact
- Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines
- Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs
- Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors
- Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
- Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals
- Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor
- Demonstrate proficiency in using AI assisted development and analysis tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot and approved code centric agents)
- Leverage AI to accelerate system design, coding, testing, analysis, and troubleshooting
- Apply strong technical judgment when validating and integrating AI assisted outputs into solutions
- Understand and account for model limitations, security risks, and operational considerations
- Apply AI responsibly in development and production environments
- Ensure AI usage aligns with security, compliance, privacy, and ethical standards
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- Advanced experience developing modern applications using Java, Spring Boot, and React.
- Strong experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices-based architectures.
- Hands-on experience with MongoDB and distributed data solutions.
- Experience designing and implementing event-driven architectures using Kafka or similar messaging technologies.
- Strong experience deploying and supporting containerized applications using OpenShift and Kubernetes.
- Experience developing applications across cloud platforms such as GCP, Azure, or AWS.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD practices, including automated build, testing, and deployment pipelines using GitHub and GitHub Actions.
- Demonstrated experience incorporating secure coding practices and DevSecOps principles throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Experience developing applications that integrate with Identity and Access Management (IAM) capabilities, including authentication and authorization.
- Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and observability solutions for highly available distributed applications.
- Ability to provide technical leadership, influence solution design, establish engineering best practices, and guide teams through complex application development and modernization efforts.
