Job Summary
• The Service Segment Planning Specialist is responsible for leading planning, forecasting, and business performance analysis for Customer Support operations. The role translates business strategy into actionable operational plans, drives forecasting accuracy, supports financial and operational decision making, and provides insights that influence business outcomes.
This position partners closely with Business Management, Finance, Quality, Product Support, Service Segment Management, and regional operations teams to develop forward-looking plans, identify risks and opportunities, and ensure alignment between operational execution and business objectives.
The role requires strong analytical capabilities, business acumen, data storytelling, and the ability to influence stakeholders across organizational boundaries.
Responsibilities
Planning & Forecasting
- Own the end-to-end forecasting process for assigned service segments, product lines, or regions.
- Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual operational plans aligned with business objectives.
- Drive Flash, Budget, and Long-Term Planning processes, ensuring consistency across assumptions and methodologies.
- Identify forecast risks and opportunities and recommend mitigation plans.
Business Performance Management
- Analyze operational performance against plan and explain volume, cost, and service level variances.
- Develop business narratives and executive-ready insights for leadership reviews.
- Monitor key performance indicators and identify improvement opportunities.
- Translate complex data into actionable recommendations.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner with Finance, Quality, Product, Service Delivery, and Operations teams to align business assumptions and planning inputs.
- Facilitate planning reviews and decision-making forums.
- Influence stakeholders without direct authority to drive business outcomes.
Process & Tool Improvement
- Lead initiatives to improve forecasting accuracy, planning effectiveness, and operational efficiency.
- Define business requirements for planning tools, automation, and reporting enhancements.
- Support implementation of new planning methodologies and best practices.
- Drive standardization and simplification of planning processes across segments and geographies.
Strategic Analysis
- Evaluate operational and financial impacts of business changes.
- Perform scenario modeling and sensitivity analysis.
- Support development of business cases and investment recommendations.
- Identify emerging trends and strategic risks.
Education & Experience Recommended
• Four-year or Graduate Degree in Business Administration, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
• Typically has 4-7 years of work experience, preferably in service business management, delivery, solution architecting, business planning, or a related field or an advanced degree with 3-5 years of work experience.
