Description
Working closely with the Directors, the Senior Manager will oversee and service a diversified portfolio that includes private equity, and other structures. They will act as the primary liaison with CFOs, financial controllers, legal counsel, fund managers, auditors, and other external advisors to ensure smooth operations and meeting all timely deadlines.
The individual will also be accountable for managing a team within the business, driving high-quality client-facing outcomes while promoting a culture of continuous development.
The role will also involve interfacing with senior-level clients to resolve issues and deliver our services proactively, strategic business development activities, including participation in client pitches and presentations and expanding client service offerings supported by an expert understanding of Luxembourg’s legal, tax, and regulatory frameworks.
Responsibilities
Operational Activities
- Act as the primary senior contact for a diverse client portfolio, engaging in strategic discussions and resolving complex issues.
- Demonstrate strong ownership of tasks by independently managing complex challenges and decision-making processes, setting clear examples through practical problem-solving in both technical and soft skill areas.
- Ensure timely and accurate execution of operational tasks, including review of statutory accounts, and audit coordination.
- Oversee annual IFRS financial statements including cash flows, and associated notes for funds, ensuring they meet all technical requirements.
- Manage the complete approval process of annual accounts, including board of management approval, shareholder endorsement, and filing with relevant authorities.
- Represent the organisation as a director on fund and SPV boards, ensuring rigorous governance and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Understands and integrates broader business goals, including client development strategies and service onboarding, into operational processes.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of the big picture by integrating client development strategies with operational excellence and technical accuracy.
- Prepare and conduct client meetings with comprehensive discussion points, including fee structures, service onboarding, and future growth opportunities.
- Analyse and report on efficiency and financial performance metrics, using these insights to drive improvements across the team.
- Delegate tasks with clear expectations and monitor KPIs to optimize resource allocation.
- Review and provide feedback on all deliverables, supporting junior team members on complex transactions.
- Participate in the recruitment process of new team members.
- Determine the out-of-scope services being performed by the team.
- Participate in the profitability assessment per client group and propose how to resolve the ongoing issues.
- Perform ad hoc tasks on day-to-day basis.
- Adequately complete and timely submit time sheets.
Key Requirements

- Ability to build, mentor, and motivate high-performing teams, delegate tasks effectively, and optimize resource allocation through KPI management.
- Master’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field.
- An advanced professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is strongly preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Fund Accounting.
Languages
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in French and/or German is an asset.
