Sacred Heart School is seeking a dedicated, positive, and faith-centered Head Junior High Girls Basketball Coach to lead and develop our junior high girls basketball program.

The Head Coach will be responsible for creating a positive, competitive, and Christ-centered environment where student-athletes can grow in their basketball skills while developing important qualities such as teamwork, discipline, perseverance, sportsmanship, leadership, and respect for others.

The coach will serve as a role model for our student-athletes and represent the mission and values of Sacred Heart School both on and off the court.

Essential Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct organized & purposeful basketball practices.
• Teach and develop fundamental basketball skills, including shooting, passing, dribbling, rebounding, defense, footwork, and team concepts.
• Develop offensive and defensive strategies appropriate for junior high athletes.
• Prepare the team for games through effective practices, scouting, game planning, and instruction.
• Provide positive leadership, encouragement, and constructive feedback to student-athletes.
• Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, accountability, discipline, and respect.
• Foster an environment in which every student-athlete feels valued and encouraged to improve.
• Emphasize character development and the importance of representing Sacred Heart School with dignity and respect.
• Model Christian & Catholic  values and incorporate faith, service, humility, and integrity into the coaching experience.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with student-athletes, parents, school administration, athletic staff, officials, and opposing teams.
• Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, and team-related activities.

The coach should understand that athletics are an extension of the educational experience and an opportunity to help students grow in faith, character, discipline, teamwork, and service.
