Description
This full-time, maintenance worker position plays an important role in the everyday operation of the division. The regular schedule for the position is Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM until 2:30PM. Maintenance workers may have to work nights and weekends as needed. It is their responsibility to open their assigned parks, perform maintenance at their assigned facilities as well as making sure there are no safety issues and contact their supervisor about. They are the backbone of the maintenance crew they complete the day to day tasks that are assigned to, assists with city and department events and other assigned duties. Without this position the level of service and standards we currently have would suffer. The Neighborhood Parks Division consists of 43 parks, 6 athletics fields, numerous pavilions, and other areas the department is responsible for.
This position may be assigned to other Parks locations as needed based on department operations.
Days/Hours - Monday through Friday, 6 AM - 2:30 PM
- Opening of park facilities.
- Inspecting park facilities for any safety issues that may be present.
- Sprays for weeds and other plant material.
- Painting of athletic fields.
- Brings equipment out to West side for repairs and maintenance.
- Mows athletic field.
- Pick stick trash around the park.
- Clean restrooms.
- Pressure clean park amenities.
- Fill out daily logs and complete weekly inspections.
- Complete basic landscape maintenance.
- Work in group projects.
- Drag and line ball fields.
- Remove trash from trash cans.
- Pickup landscape debris.
- Drag and line ballfields.
- Sets up and breakdown halls and rental facilities.
