Over the past forty years, Montefiore's Division of Substance Abuse has helped thousands of men and women enter recovery and re-join their families and communities. Through recovery, individuals are empowered to help find meaning in their lives and integrate back into their communities.  The Maintenance Worker will perform a variety of routine maintenance, grounds keeping and cleaning tasks. Perform related duties as required.

Essential Functions:
•    Clean work area and clinic areas.  Sweep and mop treatment rooms and corridors.  Vacuum appropriate areas.  May clean boiler.  Wipe and clean machinery. 
•    Stock shelves and deliver supplies to work areas. Perform inventory and inform supervisor of shortages. 
•    Perform routine, minor building and equipment repairs and maintenance activities such as replacing filters, broken furniture parts or door handles, paint touch ups, mounting paintings or bulletin boards on walls, assembling furniture and changing faucet washers.  
•    Inspect and replace electrical socket, switches, light fixtures, plumbing fixtures and radiators. 
•    Perform tune ups on small gas engines.
•    Collect and remove waste materials from facility.  Operate red bag waste disposal equipment in accordance with MMC guidelines.  
•    Perform snow removal activities on facility premises and site and polices outside of site.
•    Deliver supplies in the facility.  May perform outside errands.
•    Assist in checking out of patients by cleaning exam rooms.  Strips, washes mattress with germicide solution and makes bed.  Clean immediate area upon patient check out.
•    Empty and clean trash receptacle and wastepaper baskets.  Gather and dispose refuse.  Bags, boxes and tags red bag waste and removes to designated area.  May be assigned to remove trash to incinerator.
•    Keep janitorial closet in good order.  
•    Request cleaning supplies as needed.

Qualifications:
•    High School Diploma/GED required
•    1 year or more working experience required
•    Knowledge on operating snow removal, material movement and cleaning equipment required
•    Experience operating small power hand tools required

The schedule is 9am to 5pm Tuesday to Friday. 6:30am to 2:30pm Saturdays.

Must be able to work at other DOSA locations and shifts based on operational need.

This is a 100% grant funded position.
