BASIC FUNCTION: The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen equipment, cookware, dishware, and culinary spaces. This role supports the overall efficiency of the kitchen by ensuring that all tools and equipment are clean, organized, and readily available for use by the culinary team, while also upholding health and safety standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Wash and sanitize all glassware, silverware, plates, pots, pans, and cooking utensils used by the culinary and banquet teams
Clean and polish silver and copper items, including chafers, trays, coffee pots, tea pots, goose necks, and water pitchers
Organize and store clean items in their proper locations with care and consistency
Empty all kitchen and prep-area trash cans and dispose of cardboard used by culinary staff
Clean and return all trash cans to designated areas, maintaining cleanliness at all times
Deep-clean dish machines weekly and maintain them regularly
Assist with cleaning kitchen equipment as directed by the direct report(s)
Sweep and mop kitchen floors and clean mats throughout all culinary areas
Dispose of broken glass and dishes safely and according to procedure
Ensure hot boxes are clean, plugged in, and stocked with the correct number of plates and covers for upcoming events
Keep walls, ceilings, and other surfaces in the kitchen clean and sanitized
Follow opening, closing, and daily cleaning checklists and responsibilities provided by supervisors
Follow all sanitation and hygiene procedures to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
Complete assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner, while maintaining an elevated level of attention to detail.
What are we looking for?
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Restaurant or hospitality experience preferred.
Thorough knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards, with a commitment to maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen.
Must possess the necessary Food Handlers Certification
Strong work ethic with a focus on cleanliness and organization
Ability to work quickly and safely in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods of time
Comfortable working with cleaning chemicals and around hot equipment
Ability to work effectively as part of a team, with effective communication and collaboration skills.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime, as required.
