Lam Research India team isorganized into three major areas of responsibility: Hardware, Software, and Operations. One ofthe major functional group of this entity is LIGHT (Lam India Global Hardware Technology). TheLIGHT group, designs subassemblies and subsystems for Lam’s product lines, providinginnovation for the next-generation products, providing improvements in cost and reliability

There is an opening for the role of Mechanical Engineer, Sr for GFO team within CustomerSupport Business Group (CSBG) of LIGHT organization. This position will be based out ofBangalore and will closely be working with the engineering & cross functional teams acrossglobal regions.

CSBG mainly focuses on delivering value to customers throughout the product lifecycle byproviding Spares, Upgrades, and services to maximize the value of customer capital assets.

## What you’ll do

• Design, development, and implementation of custom medium complex mechanical tooling,fixturing to enable handling, assembly/disassembly of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies in a semi equipment.
• Participate in conceptualization, modeling, analysis, development, documentation, andtest/validation of fixtures
• Design parts using metals, ceramics, quartz, plastics, with advanced coatings/plating.
• Ensures documentation is consistent with SEMI, Lam and other standards as applicable(ANSI, DIN etc.)
• Proficient in GD&T- demonstrates knowledge and ability to apply.
• Develops and presents reports/presentations of excellent quality that communicate designintent, analysis, and validation.
• Close interactions with suppliers and other Lam internal departments to ensure high quality,well tested and cost optimized solutions.
• Prepares all required deliverables requested by product development plan (e.g., FMEA,technical specifications, risk analysis, test specifications, design review presentations)

## Who we’re looking for

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 2+ years of experience; or an advanced degree without previous professional experience; or equivalent experience.
• Proficient in 3D CAD tools such as CREO, Siemens NX, ProE, SolidWorks, and others.
• Hands-on experimental and design background coupled with solid engineering skills.
• This is a graduate eligible role.

Mandatory skills and experience required to perform the job:

• Hands-on experimental and design background coupled with solid engineering skills.
• Deep expertise in mechanical fixtures design for installation/service for semiconductors orother large equipment industry.
• Hands on experience to take design from concepts thru detailed drawing, parts procurement,DFM interaction with suppliers, assembly, test, build verification.
• Knowledge of DFX process (Design for Manufacturability, Cost, Assembly and Serviceability)to optimize designs.
• Ability to work well in a team, in a fast-paced environment with aggressive deadlines andmultiple priorities while being a team player.
• Exposure to CAD-Creo/NX, drawings, GD&T, tolerance stack up analysis.
• Ability to perform simple and medium complex hand calculations, FEA using NX Nastran/CreoSimulate to self-verify the design.

## Additional Desired Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present design concepts to peersand management in a professional and effective way.

• Critical thinker with proven ability to create solutions for complex engineering problems withan ability to learn new skills quickly with minimal guidance.

• Experience in semiconductor industry with knowledge on SEMI/Ergonomic andsafety standards for equipment design.

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
