Build a Life Sciences division. Lead a team. Shape the future.
If you're a successful recruiter with experience in the scientific or life sciences market and you've been waiting for the opportunity to build something of your own, this could be the role you've been looking for. Reed is investing heavily in its Oxford operation, and we're looking for a Business Manager to drive the expansion of our Life Sciences division across the South.
This isn't a role where you're inheriting a large team and maintaining the status quo. This is a genuine opportunity to establish, grow and lead a specialist recruitment business with the backing, brand and infrastructure of one of the UK's most recognised recruitment companies.
You'll initially manage one Senior Consultant and then focus on developing both the client and candidate base across the Life Sciences market while running your own successful billing desk. The plan is for you to quickly bring an additional recruiter into the team, with ambitious growth plans to scale the division to four/five heads within the next 12 months.
Why now?
You'll be joining an Oxford office that is already on an exceptional growth journey. Working alongside our highly successful FMCG team, you'll be part of a business that has increased headcount delivered its most profitable and successful year to date.
The blueprint is there. The investment is there. Now we need the right person to replicate that success within Life Sciences.
Who could this suit?
We're open-minded on title and level.
You might be:
- A Senior or Principal Recruitment Consultant looking for your first leadership opportunity
- An existing Recruitment Manager or Business Manager seeking a bigger platform and greater autonomy
What's most important is your ability to build relationships, win business, generate revenue and inspire future team growth.
Experience recruiting within one of the following areas would be highly advantageous:
- Life Sciences
- Biotechnology
- Pharmaceuticals
- Scientific
- Laboratory & Research
- Medical Devices
- Clinical & Regulatory
The Opportunity
As a billing Business Manager, you'll lead from the front. You'll continue to develop your own desk while building a high-performing team around you.
You'll be responsible for:
- Growing Reed's Life Sciences presence across Scotland
- Winning and developing new client relationships
- Building a high-quality candidate network
- Generating and managing your own revenue stream
- Creating a clear growth strategy for the division
- Hiring, coaching and developing future team members
- Driving performance, activity and service excellence
- Becoming the go-to Life Sciences recruitment specialist in your market
Why Reed?
At Reed, you'll have the freedom to build your business with the support of a market-leading brand behind you.
We offer:
- Uncapped commission
- Hybrid working
- Industry-leading recruitment technology
- Clear management and leadership progression pathways
- Ongoing learning and development
- Paid sabbaticals at 5, 10, 15, 20 years
- Employee wellbeing support
- Long service awards and recognition programmes
- The opportunity to build and lead your own specialist division
- A driving licence would be advantageous due to the Scotland coverage, but it is not essential.
Ready to take the next step?
If you're an ambitious recruiter who wants more than just another billing role and is excited by the prospect of building, leading and growing a Life Sciences business, we'd love to hear from you.
Apply today and be part of an exciting growth story as we build the leading Life Sciences recruitment team.
