Job Description
The Field Services Operations (FSO) EHS Specialist will ensure compliance with EHS policies, programs, and procedures. They will communicate and contribute to the development of specific programs impacting the FSO, conduct annual EHS training, audits and inspections and provide recommendations for continuous improvement of Invenergy’s safety performance and culture.
They will ensure that all personnel and employees are informed of safe working procedures and practices so that they can fulfill their responsibilities. They will manage required compliance activities, including the implementation of the Invenergy EHS requirements.
Responsibilities
Assess risks and identify hazards in the workplace and at job sites to create a safe and healthy environment
Facilitate the implementation of Invenergy standards and procedures at sites
Manage required compliance activities, including the implementation of Invenergy EHS programs
Initiate Lead investigations for incidents or significant near miss events as necessary or required including compilation and completion of forms for entry in the EHS management system
Conduct inspections and annual OSHA compliance audits and ensure corrective actions are monitored and documented
Complete, document, and submit all required EHS reports and recordkeeping information.
Deliver training on EHS policies and programs as needed
Ensure the 3E system of SDS management is properly utilized
Communicate regular updates regarding injury and illness awareness and mitigating measures. Follow up with the Site Managers as necessary
Establish good rapport with personnel through periodic group visits and attendance of recurring FSO group conference calls
Meet with FSO Directors and Managers periodically to cover EHS matters impacting the major equipment replacement, blade repair and technical support groups
Provide expertise in the EHS Management system (Intelex) as it relates to the FSO group
Manage documentation related to EHS initiatives and ad hoc programs such as safety stand downs, Safety Alerts and Bulletins
Perform other EHS related duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with departments within Invenergy
Good oral and written communication skills. (Maintain written, oral and computer communication skills to convey information to employees and contractors)
Ability to prepare accurate reports containing findings and recommendations
Ability to perform a wide variety of duties and responsibilities with accuracy and speed within high-stress environments (Possess time management skills, ability to multi-task and periodically problem solve independently)
Travel will be up to 60% required
Capable of passing fit testing and pulmonary function test to wear cartridge respirator
Proficient in the use of Microsoft office applications and other Internet-based reporting tools.
Required Qualifications
Technical/University degree or equivalent experience OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 2 years of Wind industry experience
Preferred experience in the maintenance/ replacement of major component equipment within the wind energy generation industry
Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather, climb ladders without assistance, and work at heights greater than 80 meters (250 feet)
Must be able to move and manipulate up to 50 pounds
Weight must not exceed 129 kg (285 lbs.) excluding equipment/gear worn when performing climbing
Ability to travel nationally and at times, with minimal advance notice.

Base Pay
$72,000.00 - $93,000.00 USD Annual
Bonus: 0% - 15%
The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills.
