S&W Ready Mix is currently seeking a Fleet Diesel Mechanic Shop Foreman Supervisor for the Clinton, NC Maintenance Shop. This position is responsible for coordinating and monitoring the maintenance and repair of various types of mobile equipment in the Company’s shop or on public roadways as necessary. Also maximizes equipment availability through the use of efficient and proactive preventative maintenance programs. This position ensures compliance with all standards, policies, and regulations for safe, environmentally-sound maintenance activities.
Responsibilities
- Maintains, services and/or repairs fleet vehicles including Freight Trucks and Ready Mix Trucks.
- Provides direction, leadership, and assistance to maintenance and parts room personnel.
- Maintains a clean and environmentally responsible work area.
- Coordinates repairs and services within the guidelines and procedures outlined by the Company.
- Responsible for accurate, timely and quality paperwork and electronic submittals.
- Monitors shop efficiency by implementing effective time management practices.
- Adheres to Company policies and procedures, State, Local, and federal regulatory requirements.
- Participates in continuous training and development within ones job classification.
- Responsible for parts and material inventory within assigned area.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Previous experience performing preventative maintenance.
- Experience in diagnosing and repair of Class 8 diesel engines, hydraulic systems, suspensions, drive-train components, electrical, air conditioning, air brakes, computer diagnostics and basic electrical welding.
Required Skills:
- Possesses strong mechanical skills and training necessary to maintain, service and/or repair fleet vehicles including Freight Trucks, Ready Mix and any other service vehicles.
- Displays a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
- Working outdoors with exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold and other outdoor environmental conditions, constant standing and walking, climbing, working from heights and lifting up to 75lbs.
- Must have the ability to exercise discretion and good judgment in supervising the hourly workforce. These tasks include: directing, training, counseling, and disciplining.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and OT.
- Ability to pass pre-employment processes including criminal background check, physical and drug screen.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient working knowledge of Computer and Microsoft Office products.
- Must be able to climb conveyor belts for maintenance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree
- 7+ years of relevant work experience.
- CDL License.
- Ready Mix or related Industry experience.
