The Team
Transaction Services (TS) is one of Wholesale Banking's core business lines, providing payment, liquidity, and transaction banking solutions to corporate and institutional clients globally. Within TS, Correspondent Banking Management (CBM) is responsible for managing ING's network of correspondent banks and payment service providers, ensuring the bank maintains resilient, cost-effective and compliant access to domestic and international payment infrastructures.
As a Correspondent Banking Manager, you will play a key role in managing strategic third-party banking relationships, driving network optimisation initiatives, and supporting ING's global payments strategy.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of correspondent banks and payment service providers, overseeing relationship management, due diligence, onboarding and ongoing governance
- Lead RFI/RFP processes, due diligence reviews and risk assessments for correspondent banking relationships
- Manage pricing, service performance and commercial negotiations to support cost optimisation and network efficiency
- Act as the key contact for assigned counterparties and internal stakeholders across Product, Operations, Compliance, Risk and Treasury
- Analyse payment flows, market developments and industry trends to identify opportunities and mitigate risks
- Support strategic initiatives, governance forums and projects impacting ING's global payment and correspondent banking network
- Produce management reporting, KPIs and market intelligence to support business decision-making

- 5-10 years of experience in correspondent banking, financial institutions payments, cash management or payment network management within a bank, payment provider or financial market infrastructure.
- Proven experience managing correspondent bank or cash agent relationships, including due diligence, contractual arrangements and commercial negotiations.
- Strong knowledge of international payment infrastructures, including SWIFT, SEPA, CHAPS, TARGET, Fedwire and cross-border payment processing.
- Experience conducting RFI/RFP exercises and working with Compliance, Financial Crime, Risk and Legal stakeholders.
- Strong commercial, analytical and risk management skills, with experience in pricing, cost management and performance analysis.
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external senior stakeholders.
- Knowledge of regulatory, sanctions and financial crime considerations impacting correspondent banking relationships.
