This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations: Homewood Mountain & Lake Club, set on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe in Homewood, California.

Homewood is seeking a Food & Beverage Lead to join the Food & Beverage Department.

Job Summary:

The Food & Beverage Lead is responsible for leading the F&B Attendant team on shift while working alongside them in cashier duties, food running, and bussing tables. Reporting to the F&B Supervisor, this role ensures smooth, efficient service and consistently excellent guest experience. This role is ideal for someone with strong service experience who is ready to take the next step into leadership.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Lead the F&B Attendant team during assigned shifts, assigning stations and side work, and setting a positive, guest-focused tone for service.
• Serve as the point of contact on shift in the absence of the Supervisor, making real-time decisions to keep service running smoothly and escalating issues as needed.
• Conduct pre-shift huddles to communicate menu updates, daily specials, promotions, and service priorities.
• Train new team members on cashier procedures, food running, bussing, POS use, and service standards, and coach team members on performance throughout the shift.
• Work alongside the team in all attendant duties, including greeting guests, taking orders, processing payments, running food, and clearing and resetting tables.
• Oversee cash handling for the shift, including verifying opening and closing register counts and reporting any discrepancies to the Supervisor.
• Monitor service flow and coordinate with the kitchen to ensure food is delivered accurately, promptly, and presented to standard, communicating special requests and dietary restrictions.
• Address guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints with a positive and professional attitude, resolving issues on the spot when possible and escalating to the Supervisor as appropriate.
• Complete opening and closing checklists for the outlet, ensuring stations are set, stocked, and secured.
• Monitor stock levels of supplies and products during service, assist with inventory counts, and communicate needs to the Supervisor.
• Ensure the outlet and dining areas meet cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the shift, and follow up on side work completion.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines, as well as responsible alcohol service laws where applicable.
• Provide feedback to the Supervisor on team performance, guest feedback, and operational opportunities.
• Adhere to and model all Homewood policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of food and beverage service experience required.
• Previous experience in a lead, trainer, or shift lead role preferred.
• Ability to lead by example, motivate a team, and provide clear direction during busy service periods.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Sound judgment and the ability to resolve guest and team issues calmly and professionally.
• Proficiency with POS systems and accurate cash handling.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt quickly based on business levels.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and maintain a strong work ethic.
• Current Food Handler certification (or ability to obtain prior to start date); California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification preferred.

• Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must be able to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays; long hours may be required based on business demand.
• Ability to stay calm and focused during high-volume service periods.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, standing and walking for extended periods, and lifting/carrying items up to 50 pounds.

The Company’s good faith estimate of the hourly rate it expects to pay for this role is $26-$28 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
