Senior Rockwell PLC & HMI Software Architect (relocation in France)

Responsibilities

• PLC program architecture: Check program structure, naming, modularity, reusability, maintainability and compliance with STLA-CS Rockwell principles.
• Function block review: Verify delivered function blocks such as PLC/robot communication, safety gate management, inverter control, diagnostics and standard operating functions.
• HMI design and coding: Check HMI faceplates, navigation, screen consistency, alarm behavior, settings, ergonomics and runtime performance.
• Test-bench validation: Prepare and execute validation tests on the test bench, identify deviations, document results and follow corrective actions.
• Checklists and test plans: Build, fill and maintain software verification checklists for PLC blocks, HMI faceplates, communication and diagnostics.
• Urgent project development: Develop urgent PLC/HMI functions required by Atessa when supplier delivery or project timing requires direct support.
• Industrial communication: Develop and validate OPC UA Server functions in the Rockwell environment for monitoring systems, and support MQTT/MQTTS exchanges required by the Atessa MES context.

Qualifications

• Very strong hands-on experience with Rockwell / Allen-Bradley PLC programming, including ControlLogix and GuardLogix environments.
• Strong experience in Rockwell HMI design and coding, including faceplate philosophy, navigation and diagnostics.
• Ability to review supplier-delivered PLC programs and challenge architecture, code quality and performance.
• Strong knowledge of EtherNet/IP, CIP Safety, PLC/robot interfaces, inverter control and industrial diagnostics.
• Ability to develop OPC UA Server functions in the Rockwell environment for monitoring systems.
• Ability to work on MQTT/MQTTS interfaces related to MES requirements defined by Stellantis Atessa project.
• Good understanding of Siemens automation standards and TIA Portal concepts to understand the current STLA-CS Siemens standards and ensure alignment.

Essential skills

• Work with the Poissy STLA-CS team as the main operational base.
• Collaborate with Rockwell teams and Rockwell subcontractors.
• Collaborate with project teams and integrators involved in Atessa and future STLA-CS Rockwell projects.
• Travel in the Paris area when needed for workshops, reviews or technical meetings.
• Limited travel to Sochaux to exchange with STLA-CS Siemens teams and understand existing control standards.
• Limited travel to Atessa, Italy, if required to understand the real project needs and support field alignment; expected travel remains limited, typically one or two trips until the end of 2026
