Description
Quality Control Manager | Commercial/Federal Construction
Colorado Springs, CO
If you're the person who catches problems before they become rework, understands federal construction requirements, and takes pride in making sure what's on the drawings is what's actually being built, this could be a great long-term opportunity.
We're looking for an experienced Quality Control Manager to take ownership of QC on a major federal renovation project in Colorado Springs.
Why Work With Us
- Long-term opportunity with a strong federal project pipeline
- 2-year project beginning this fall
- Major renovation with multiple trades and scopes
- Work alongside an experienced Construction Manager and Superintendent
- High level of ownership and visibility on the project
- Stable federal construction environment
- Collaborative team that takes quality seriously
The Project
You'll oversee quality for the complete interior transformation of an existing 40,000 SF facility.
The building is currently primarily office space and will undergo a complete interior demolition and build-back into a secure federal facility.
The project includes:
- Interior demolition and complete build-back
- New flooring and finishes
- HVAC systems
- Electrical systems
- Communications infrastructure
- Multiple subcontracted trades
- Federal quality, documentation and inspection requirements
The project is scheduled to begin in October, but we're looking to get the right person onboard now.
What You'll Be Doing
As the Quality Control Manager, you'll be the person making sure the project is being built to the plans, specifications and federal requirements from day one.
You'll:
- Manage and administer the project's Quality Control Program
- Perform field inspections of work in progress
- Review drawings, specifications, approved submittals and shop drawings
- Verify field installation matches approved project requirements
- Coordinate inspections with subcontractors and government representatives
- Prepare and maintain QC reports and documentation
- Coordinate required material testing and maintain testing records
- Identify deficiencies and drive corrective action
- Maintain accurate redlines and as-built documentation
- Work closely with the Construction Manager and Superintendent
- Help prevent quality issues and rework before they impact the project
What You Bring
- Strong construction Quality Control experience
- Federal construction experience strongly preferred
- Excellent understanding of drawings, specifications, submittals and shop drawings
- Experience inspecting multiple construction scopes and subcontracted trades
- Strong documentation and reporting skills
- Ability to identify non-conforming work and confidently drive corrective action
- Understanding of federal Contractor Quality Control processes
- USACE Quality Management for Contractors certification is a strong plus but NOT required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Team-oriented approach and strong communication skills
- Someone who can hold a high standard without making the jobsite miserable
We're looking for someone who understands that great QC isn't about walking around with a clipboard looking for mistakes. It's about knowing the documents, staying ahead of the work, communicating clearly and making sure things are built correctly the first time.
Because this work is performed in a federal environment, candidates must be able to meet applicable project access and screening requirements, including a favorable background and drug screening.
To Apply
If you have strong construction QC experience and know how to keep a federal project compliant, documented and moving in the right direction, I'd like to talk.
Talk soon,
