The School of Medicine is seeking a high-calibre individual who excels in a dynamic, fast-paced, and multi-tasking environment to enhance student support, engagement, well-being and the overall student experience as a Senior Manager (Student Affairs). The appointee will play a pivotal role in delivering student support services, high-quality events and initiatives, strengthening stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of student affairs initiatives, including student support services, engagement activities, and well-being-related programmes
- Oversee the administration of student-facing processes and services, ensuring policies, procedures, and operational practices are implemented effectively and consistently
- Work closely with faculty members, administrative units, and University offices to support student development, address student concerns, and maintain a student-centred learning environment
- Support committees, meetings, and decision-making by preparing papers, reports, data analysis, and recommendations on student affairs matters
- Monitor student affairs-related data, records, and workflows, and contribute to process improvement, service enhancement, and quality assurance
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to advance student affairs priorities and ensure alignment with the School’s strategic goals
- Supervise and mentor junior staff where appropriate, foster a collaborative and innovative work environment in pursuit of achieving the University’s goals
- Perform any other duties as assigned
Entry Requirements
- A recognized Bachelor’s degree
- Possess a minimum of 8-10 years of relevant post-qualification work experience in tertiary institution, preferably with exposure to possess relevant post-qualification work experience in student affairs, higher education administration, or a related role in a tertiary institution or sizeable organization. Ideal applicants should have good knowledge and experience of student affairs practices, student support services, engagement initiatives, and policy implementation in higher education; experience in medical education is an advantage
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work effectively across academic and administrative teams are required
- Strong team player, demonstrate a proactive attitude and take ownership of responsibilities, with sound judgment and discretion in handling sensitive matters
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills are essential, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines
- Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua) is necessary
- Relevant computer applications and IT skills are expected
Work outside normal office hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, may occasionally be required.
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of a 2-year contract. Renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
