We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead our property management operations. This senior leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of property operations, financial performance, team management, and client relationships. The ideal candidate will combine strategic thinking with hands-on operational expertise to deliver exceptional results for our managed portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Business Development
Develop and execute strategic plans to optimize property performance, increase asset value, and achieve financial objectives. Build and maintain strong relationships with property owners, investors, and key stakeholders. Identify opportunities for portfolio growth and operational improvements. Lead annual business planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
Financial Management
Oversee preparation and management of operating and capital budgets for assigned properties. Monitor financial performance against targets and implement corrective actions as needed. Review and approve financial reports, variance analyses, and performance dashboards. Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to ownership and stakeholders. Drive revenue optimization and expense management initiatives.
Operations Management
Direct day-to-day property operations including maintenance, tenant services, vendor management, and facility improvements. Ensure properties meet or exceed operational standards, safety requirements, and regulatory compliance. Oversee lease administration, tenant retention programs, and occupancy optimization. Manage capital improvement projects from planning through execution. Implement and monitor key performance indicators to drive operational excellence.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing property management team including property managers, assistant managers, and administrative staff. Establish performance objectives, conduct evaluations, and provide ongoing coaching and feedback. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Recruit, onboard, and retain top talent to build organizational capability.
Client & Tenant Relations
Serve as primary point of contact for ownership and executive-level client interactions. Ensure exceptional service delivery and responsiveness to client and tenant needs. Resolve escalated issues and manage complex stakeholder communications. Lead client presentations, property tours, and business reviews.
Risk Management & Compliance
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, building codes, and lease agreements. Oversee risk management programs including insurance, safety protocols, and emergency preparedness. Manage vendor contracts, service agreements, and procurement processes. Maintain thorough documentation and reporting systems.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, Property Management, or related field
- Minimum 5-7 years of progressive property management experience
- Real Estate license and/or CPM (Certified Property Manager), RPA (Real Property Administrator), or ARM (Accredited Residential Manager) designation strongly preferred
- Proven track record of managing commercial and/or multifamily properties
- Demonstrated expertise in financial management, budgeting, and P&L accountability
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Proficiency with property management software and Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred:
- Experience managing Class A properties or large-scale portfolios
- Knowledge of sustainable building operations and LEED principles
- Experience with capital improvement projects and construction management

Physical Requirements
This position requires regular property site visits. Ability to walk properties, climb stairs, and inspect building systems and common areas. Office-based work with occasional evening or weekend availability for emergencies or special events.

Estimated compensation for this position:
115,000.00 – 135,000.00 USD per yearThis range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
