The Position

#Job Description: 

The ERP - SAP IT consultant leads independently complex SAP solution delivery from a technical standpoint. This role is responsible for the specification of the architecture and functionality a global or local IT solutions..

In addition, they advise business and IT stakeholders on technical topics and work alongside IT and business colleagues to drive Idea-to-Requirement and Requirement-to-Implementation processes in a technical consulting role. 

This IT expert role will work within the ERP Product configuration and Sustainability team. This position includes the below mentioned tasks and responsibilities with main focus on SAP Product and REACH Compliance, SAP Product Safety and/or SAP S/4HANA for Product Compliance Software Solutions.

Job Responsibilities:

Solutions/Services

• Designs and communicates high-level structures to enable and guide the design and development of integrated solutions that meet current and future business needs.

• Demonstrates understanding of requirements gathering and is able to show how agreed requirements are addressed by the proposed solution 

• Innovates and optimizes processes and methods within the domain to meet system or user requirements and develop new functionality

• Guides the development of, and modifications to, solution components to ensure that they take account of relevant architectures, strategies, policies, standards and practices and that existing and planned solution components remain compatible

• Leads cross-solution architecture in the SAP environment.

• Coordinates and cooperates with a team of external consultants and developers for support processes, change management and DevOps setup.

• Works and cooperates with a team of external consultants and developers for change and incident management processes in either Waterfall, DevOps or Agile team configurations.

Standards

• Applies and implements process standards and actively participates in their introduction and rollout. 

• Observes governance processes, highlights areas for improvement and assists in their implementation 

• Implements appropriate framework and processes

• Uses tools and follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) 

• Maintains appropriate documentation of tasks and activities performed as required by project and other authorities.

• Ensures dynamic collaboration with governance & dedicated architecture bodies 

• Supports new and established IT solutions by following ITIL rule sets (esp. incident and service management)

Know-how

• Understands business processes governing the application and is able to establish strong links with other technical teams responsible for the application and product delivery.

• Develops business/technical critical knowledge within the area of expertise for the function. 

• Ensures alignment to defined technology roadmap among cross functional teams. 

• Assists in the development of others by coaching and sharing his/her experiences and knowledge in the field of expertise.

• Supports the implementation of projects within the area of technical expertise, contributes to the implementation planning. 

• Where requested supports Maintenance and Support activities e.g. for technical implementations or Change Management processes in a Waterfall, Agile or DevOps setup. 

• Acts as IT consultant to Product Owners / Product Manager(s) (e.g. input to technical process flows, requirements, functionality gap analysis).

• Helps in defining testing for System and User Acceptance tests

• Is responsible for the development of the initial to be solution architecture

• Is responsible for specifying the solution architecture (Design) 

• Is responsible for publishing the solution to the To-Be IT landscape 

• Consults on accessing the technical condition of solution 

• Consults on updating lifecycle planning of solution, technology platforms and components

• Consults on assessing and planning changes 

• Is responsible for requesting the IT landscape 

• Is responsible for applying the IT landscape 

• Is responsible for requesting the IT standard 

• Is responsible for applying the IT standard

Must-Haves:

• Very good application knowledge in:  SAP Product and REACH Compliance, SAP Product Safety and/or SAP S/4HANA for Product Compliance Software Solutions.

• 5-6 years of professional IT experience directly in the relevant SAP module(s) mentioned above.

• Good understanding of SAP material master.

• Broad experience in the area of Product Safety, Product Compliance processes and corresponding regulatory context.

• Participated in at least 3 SAP implementation projects ( full cycle) in a similar role to the job description or equivalent experience. 

• Able to lead/execute alignment meetings and discussions with business and IT stakeholders.

• At least BS in Computer Science, engineering or equivalent degree and/or experience.

• Advanced English reading, writing, listening and speaking.

• Able to work EMEA office hours.

• Very strong communication skills at different levels (end users, stakeholders, team leads) in an assertive and collaborative manner.

• Analytical mindset, attention to detail.

• Excellent team player who enjoys collaboration, mentoring and knowledge sharing as well as self-learning.

Special Requirements

• Flexibility to travel ~10%-15%  of time including outside of home country

• Working hours aligned with European office hours with potential shift to early morning or late afternoon to interact with colleagues in California or China.
