About the role

We are looking for an Operator - Processing to join our Materials Handling team with routine operating of fixed and mobile plant equipment including the crushing circuit, conveyors, stackers, reclaimers and ship loader.

This role is a great opportunity for a safety focused, team player with some experience who is willing to learn and progress their career.

Reporting to the Supervisor Processing and working a 8/8 day/night roster (FIFO)**,  you will be:

• Operating fixed plant equipment from conveyors, crushers, screens to ship loader;
• Conducting routine inspections and tasks in your areas to maintain equipment in operational condition;
• Participating actively in safety interactions and improvements;

** These roles fall under the Gove EBA – flights are in your own time.

Where you’ll be working

Our Gove site in Australia’s Northern Territory has been supplying the global aluminium industry with world-class bauxite for more than 40 years.

Gove bauxite is shipped internationally as well as domestically to supply Queensland Alumina Limited and Yarwun refineries in Gladstone, Queensland. These refineries produce alumina as feedstock for our Australian aluminium smelting operations and for sale on the international market.

We expect our bauxite mining operations in the Gove Peninsula will cease later this decade and we are doing significant work to support closure of the operation.
