Description
Job functions include but are not limited to:
- Test vehicle preparation and test execution: Ballast and align vehicles; update vehicle hardware and software systems as needed (brake / VDC/ chassis components, software settings as needed); install data acquisition equipment; collect vehicle test data via multiple data acquisition systems; perform tests consistently and accurately, in order to repeatedly produce high data quality
- Data processing: Process raw data into completed form for analysis by engineers; organize data for review by senior technician or engineer, using Excel, LINK, DART, RevData, Dewesoft, Catman and other tools.
- Driving support: Support and participate in proving ground and public road driving events led by engineering staff to evaluate and validate system performance
- Communication: Communicate regularly on test status, test results, issues, and business development items.
- Team activity support: Provide technical support for ride, handling and brake in-vehicle testing, including travel (~10%) depending on program needs; cross training with other Chassis Performance functions will be expected
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be self-motivated to learn, perform and grow in a dynamic team environment; must have good communication and interpersonal skill appropriate to cross cultural/cross functional work environment; must be willing to work overtime and be a team player; must be able to self manage deadlines
- Minimum 2 years prior automotive technician experience required; Dynamic vehicle test experience preferred
- Demonstrable automotive mechanical and electrical skill (diagnostics, parts change, software/parameter updates etc) required; experience conducting vehicle dynamics testing and/or brake testing preferred.
- Use of the Microsoft Office suite required; experience with LINK, DART, Dewesoft, Catman, Racelogic, RevData, and/or other data acquisition and analysis software preferred; CAN and electrical experience preferred
- High school diploma / GED required; advanced technical training in automotive field preferred (e.g., UTI, etc)
- Valid driver’s license required; advanced high performance driving training/experience preferred
- Must be able to lift 50lbs unassisted
- Must be able to work OT (up to 20%) as workload demands.
