Position Summary:

The Florida Atlantic University Medical Group is seeking a Lead Clinical Medical Assistant in Boca Raton, FL.

The Lead Clinical Medical Assistant supports the Clinical Supervisor in overseeing daily clinical operations and serves as a key resource and leader for the Medical Assistant team. This position serves as a role model in demonstrating sound judgement, maintaining professionalism, and supporting the Clinical Supervisor in maintaining a safe, efficient, and patient centered environment.

This position helps ensure patient flow, consistent clinical standards, accurate documentation, and compliance with organizational policies and procedures. Provides day-to-day guidance, training, and support to clinical staff while maintaining a strong focus on patient care and service excellence. 


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Serve as a clinical resource and point of contact for Medical Assistants and clinical support staff. 

  • Assists the Clinical Supervisor with daily coordination of clinical operations and workflow. 

  • Monitor patient flow and help identify and resolve operational or clinical workflow issues. 

  • Provide guidance, coaching, and support to Medical Assistants to promote consistent performance and adherence to established standards. 

  • Assist with onboarding, orientation, training, and competency assessment of new clinical staff. 

  • Support implementation and maintenance of clinical policies, procedures, and best practices. 

  • Help ensure exam rooms, equipment, supplies, and clinical areas are properly maintained and prepared for patient care. 

  • Monitor compliance with infection prevention, safety, documentation, and regulatory requirements. 

  • Assist with staff scheduling, coverage, and workflow assignments as directed by the Clinical Supervisor. 

  • Perform and oversee appropriate clinical duties within the scope of practice of the Medical Assistant role. 

  • Promote accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record. 

  • Assist providers and clinical staff with patient care, procedures, and coordination of services. 

  • Identify performance, workflow, or patient-care concerns and communicate them promptly to the Clinical Supervisor. 

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and clinical process improvement projects. 

  • Promote a positive, professional, and collaborative work environment. 

  • Provide exceptional patient service and model appropriate communication and professionalism. 

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Clinical Supervisor or leadership.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent and one year of appropriate experience required.

Current Medical Assistant certification/registration required.

Current BLS/CPR certification required or obtainable within the required timeframe.

Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills required.

Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and work effectively in a fast-paced
clinical environment required.

Strong knowledge of clinical workflows, patient care procedures, infection control,
and medical documentation required.

Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.

Minimum of 2–3 years of clinical Medical Assistant experience preferred.

Previous leadership, mentoring, or lead experience preferred.

Salary:

$25.00 Hourly.
