Associate Health and Safety Specialist
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging safety training programs including:
- HAZWOPER 8-hour and 24-hour
- OSHA 10-hour and 30-hour (General Industry)
- NFPA 70E Arc Flash
- Safety Leadership
- Conduct training in-person, via webinars, or through Learning Management Systems (LMS), including development of site-specific content.
- Assist clients with the development, implementation, and maintenance of core safety programs such as:
- Emergency Action Plans
- Lockout/Tagout
- Hazard Communication
- PPE
- Bloodborne Pathogens
- Perform hazard assessments and site inspections; generate written reports with corrective actions and recommendations.
- Coordinate and manage training schedules and consulting engagements in alignment with client proposals.
- Ensure timely completion of internal administrative tasks including time tracking, expense reporting, and documentation.
Experience Required
- 5–10 years of direct experience in the safety profession, with a strong emphasis on training, hazard identification, and program development.
- Proven experience delivering safety training in both classroom and virtual environments.
- Demonstrated ability to assess site-specific hazards and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Strong project and time management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities.
- Customer-focused approach with strong relationship-building capabilities.
- Previous consulting experience preferred.
Certifications & Credentials
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field (preferred)
- OSHA 501 – Trainer for General Industry (preferred)
- Recognized safety credentials such as CSP, ASP, CHST, or CSHO are highly desirable.
- Current First Aid/CPR/AED instructor certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and conduct training or site inspections for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in industrial, construction, or field environments when needed.
- Capable of lifting training materials and equipment (up to 30 lbs).
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regionally up to 40% of the time, including occasional overnight stays.

- Design and customize safety training to meet client-specific regulatory requirements and workplace hazards.
Other Requirements:
- Background check and potential drug screening required for the position
- Overtime and flexible working hours may be necessary based on project demands
- Residence within a reasonable commuting distance
