• Perform maintenance, monitoring, and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems to keep facilities up to applicable standards
• Record readings and make adjustments to ensure proper operation of equipment, including cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and changing parts to maintain HVAC systems at optimum performance levels
• Maintain responsibility for facility services, preventative maintenance, purchasing and inventory control, contracted maintenance, and general maintenance tasks
• Review monthly client service request summaries to pinpoint and correct recurrent operational problems, and monitor the quality and pricing of maintenance work performed by outside contractors
• Lead and assist with event setup and teardown activities including electrical, audio visual coordination, and working with security teams as needed
• Comply with departmental policy for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials while maintaining a clean and safe workplace
Required qualifications:
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• 3+ years of similar working experience in facility operations or building maintenance
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems and ability to perform electrical troubleshooting and repairs
• EPA Universal Technician Certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment)
• Ability to analyze the operation of various systems, determine the cause of problems or malfunctions, and take corrective action as required
• Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with clients, vendors, and team members
• Availability for call-in work and flexible scheduling as needed to support facility operations
• Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, kneel, squat, reach, and lay for extended periods to access equipment components, and lift up to 50 lbs
Preferred qualifications:
• Completion of a vocational or trade program in HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, or related field
• Technical expertise in one or more craft areas: Electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, or Central Utility Plant Operations
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and Microsoft Office Suite
