Description
LAZ Parking is looking for a qualified individual to serve as a Facility Manager (FM), who has experience in employee management and technology and is eager to learn and thrive in a fast-paced environment. This is a full-time, year-round position responsible for overseeing parking enforcement operations for the City of Malibu, California, where LAZ Parking provides parking enforcement services and supports traffic control operations for special events as needed. While the position operates year-round, peak operational activity occurs between Memorial Day and Labor Day. This role is instrumental in ensuring operational excellence, client satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and successful service delivery throughout the year.
This is an exempt position, and the ideal candidate must be able to maintain a flexible work schedule to support operational needs. While the Facilities Manager (FM) will generally work during standard business hours, the role requires flexibility to adjust work hours as necessary to ensure effective oversight of operations. This may include occasional evening and weekend work, particularly during peak operational periods, special events, or other business-critical situations.
Principal Job Duties:
- Oversee the parking enforcement program and partner with the City to identify and prioritize enforcement locations.
- Ensure full compliance with all contractual obligations and service requirements outlined in the agreement between LAZ Parking and the client.
- Manage, plan, schedule, train, and direct the daily activities and performance of the team.
- Foster a culture of safety by promoting best practices related to driving, patrol operations, and conflict resolution.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships to support customer satisfaction, contract retention, and business growth.
- Oversee payroll administration, ensuring timely approval of employee hours and coordinating with the payroll department to ensure accurate and complete payroll processing.
- Lead, coach, and develop team members to achieve annual and periodic goals while embodying LAZ Parking’s core values and culture.
- Identify, mentor, and develop high-potential employees to support organizational growth and succession planning.
- Maintain effective communication and collaboration with City Public Safety, local law enforcement agencies, and emergency management personnel regarding operational matters.
- Prepare and deliver daily, weekly, monthly, and annual financial and operational reports as required.
- Serve as the primary liaison between parking patrons, stakeholders, and operational teams, ensuring effective communication and issue resolution.
- Lead and execute projects, programs, and operational initiatives that support business objectives and enhance service delivery.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee special event traffic control operations in partnership with City officials and stakeholders.
- Monitor and manage operational initiatives specific to assigned locations, ensuring successful implementation and completion.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
- At least 2+ years working in parking enforcement and experience in employee management in a supervisor/manager role.
- Highly proficient in Office365 suite applications (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Able to learn and become proficient in other software applications.
- Experience in overseeing technology and implementing initiatives that streamline existing processes using technology.
- • Preferred, but not required: Familiarity with the City of Malibu area.

Physical Demands:
