As an Access Optimization Analyst I, you will support Epic Cadence scheduling workflows and patient access operations by assisting with workflow maintenance, issue resolution, testing, and documentation. In this role, you will work closely with operational and technical teams to support established processes, gather and document requirements, and contribute to the successful implementation of workflow updates. You will develop foundational knowledge of Epic applications, scheduling workflows, and ambulatory operations while applying strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills to support efficient and accurate access management processes.
A caregiver in this role works remotely from Ohio, Florida, or Nevada, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with travel up to 10% of the time.
To be considered for this position, candidates must reside in Ohio, Florida, or Nevada.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Analyze, create and maintain SER Masterfile provider records to meet standards of Meaningful use.
Epic scheduling template build; creation, maintenance, and oversight.
Create change request tickets, ensure completeness of data and maintain current documentation.
Evaluate change request tickets against established operational and scheduling standards and in the context of patient access and care, provider practice criteria, Institute goals and enterprise-wide scheduling.
Monitor the change request ticket from submittal through testing, validation, and implementation.
Verify accuracy of questionnaire and/or decision tree flow after implemented change.
Assist with the analysis and building of visit types, panels, provider and resource pools.
Provide input for updating existing Epic workflows or capturing data for new Epic workflows.
Provide end-user support, demonstrations of the Epic system, and other duties pertinent to onboarding and education.
Establish credibility at all levels within the department and promote a problem-solving partnership with colleagues.
Model outstanding customer service behavior, including timely and effective follow-up with customers.
Support physician practice integration into front-end Epic systems including discovery.
Build relationships internally with the Institute stakeholders and externally with the Epic ITD team to ensure updates are applied and rolled out successfully.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School diploma/GED and two years of Epic system experience in an outpatient setting (preferably in an academic medical center) or two years supporting Epic applications that includes optimizing
OR Associate’s degree and one year of experience
Solid understanding of workflows in the ambulatory environment
High degree of self-motivation, versatility, and flexibility
Experience and comfort working at all levels of a health care organization
Strong analytical, presentation, and communication (both verbal and written) skills
Microsoft Office proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & Visio
Demonstrated leadership, team, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Associate’s degree
Basic understanding of Epic Cadence functionality and scheduling workflows
Knowledge of patient access, provider scheduling, and ambulatory operations, or the ability to learn these processes
Familiarity with Epic master files, work queues, decision trees, Fast Pass, and patient self-scheduling concepts
Ability to follow established processes, document requirements, and support workflow updates
Ability to collaborate effectively with operational and technical teams while developing Epic application knowledge
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.
Ability to travel throughout the hospital system.
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.
Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
