Schwab Technology Services enables the future of how clients manage their money by delivering innovative and reliable technology products and services. Within the Digital Advice organization, you’ll join a fast-paced, collaborative team supporting high-visibility applications used by a growing client base.

 

As a Backend Software Engineer, you’ll develop scalable applications and new features using C# and .NET Core while helping maintain the security, reliability, and performance of existing products. You’ll evaluate requirements, solve complex design and production issues, and apply modern development, testing, and release practices to deliver stable solutions.

 

Your decisions will directly influence application quality and the client experience. Success will require thoughtful problem-solving, adaptability, and close collaboration with engineers, business partners, and other stakeholders to balance immediate needs with long-term platform scalability.

 

What you have

Required qualifications

• Experience developing backend applications using C# and .NET Core
• Experience designing, building, testing, and validating scalable software solutions
• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and restore live application services
• Experience applying secure development, compliance, and software quality practices
• Ability to evaluate requirements, constraints, and technical tradeoffs to make sound decisions
• Experience collaborating within an Agile software development environment
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders

Preferred qualifications

• Experience designing applications aligned with modern cloud architectures
• Experience consolidating software changes into secure and stable releases
• Knowledge of predictive and adaptive software design methods
• Demonstrated ability to identify process improvements and implement creative solutions
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate findings into actionable recommendations
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining quality and delivery commitments
