What You Will Work On
Lead daily inventory control operations to ensure accuracy, compliance, and smooth distribution center performance. You will guide teams, analyze inventory results, and develop improvements that support operational excellence. This work strengthens customer satisfaction and supports Academy’s mission to make it easier for everyone to enjoy sports and outdoors.
Responsibilities include implementing procedures, partnering with DC leaders, and driving initiatives that reduce inaccuracies. You will oversee audits, internal controls, and documentation to keep processes aligned with expectations. Each day brings opportunities to influence strategy, support teams, and enhance accuracy across the network.
Who You Will Work With
Collaboration spans Inventory Control leadership, DC Operations, Merchants, and Store Operations teams who rely on your guidance and analytical insight. You will also work with a diverse workforce, building partnerships that strengthen communication, efficiency, and alignment across functions.

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field preferred
5+ years of experience in inventory, distribution, or operational procedures
2+ years of supervisory experience
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate across shifts and divisions
Ability to facilitate change and make strategic decisions with limited information
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
Proficiency in MS Office, WMS, AS/400, and Sterling Commerce
A team-first attitude; while your core duties are your priority, you're happy to step in wherever you're needed
Work Style and Physical Requirements
Constant standing, walking, sitting, climbing, and repetitive motions
Frequent kneeling, crouching, crawling, grasping, and pushing/pulling
Ability to push and pull 5 to 40 pounds and lift 2 to 25 pounds
Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Regular in-office attendance is required
Acceptable level of hearing and vision to perform job duties
Ability to adhere to company policies and professional standards
