Overview
Planned Systems International (PSI) is an Enterprise IT services company who focuses on designing, building, securing, and operating cutting-edge software solutions that drive mission success and operational excellence for Federal Government organizations. PSI is currently seeking a Project Manager to directly support the global Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) Enhanced Mission Integration (AEMI) program at Hurlburt Field, FL.
Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities
The Project Manager for AFSOC Enhanced Mission Integration (AEMI) Core Services is responsible for leading the operations, maintenance, cybersecurity posture, and lifecycle evolution of enterprise IT, specialized tactical systems, and dedicated end-user client support for Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC). Based primarily at Hurlburt Field, FL, with oversight extending to permanent and deployed operational nodes, this leadership position manages multi-disciplinary teams delivering high-reliability services across unclassified, classified, and tactical enclaves, including some NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and SAMS-ME.
Operationally, the Project Manager oversees the full spectrum of Core Services and infrastructure sustainment. This includes directing systems and network administration, virtualization management (VMware vSphere/vCenter), enterprise operating systems (Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS), cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), routing/switching hardware (Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, HP), and perimeter defenses (Palo Alto Next-Gen Firewalls, Cisco ISE). The role ensures rigorous adherence to Department of the Air Force Instructions (DAFIs) and DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) through continuous automated monitoring, vulnerability assessments (using Splunk, SolarWinds, Wireshark, MDE tools), script automation (Ansible Tower), access and identity controls, directory services, data backup execution, and lifecycle hardware refresh forecasting. Additionally, the Project Manager drives the technical evolution of AEMI by evaluating Commercial Off-the-Shelf and Government Off-the-Shelf (COTS/GOTS) technologies, conducting compatibility testing, and preparing formal Course of Action (COA) recommendations to expand operational capabilities.
In parallel with back-end infrastructure, the Project Manager directs Client Services operations, managing Client Systems Technicians (CSTs) providing tier-level hardware, software, and peripheral support to the AFSOC Special Operations Advanced Capabilities Squadron (SOACS) and the high-visibility AFSOC Headquarters (HQ) Operations Center watch floor. This mandate requires maintaining continuous operational readiness, managing 24/7/365 surge requirements, and executing rapid-response communications support for Continuity of Operations (COOP) and Hurricane Evacuation (HUREVAC) relocations to alternate facilities. The Project Manager also sustains specialized tactical Command and Control (C2) and data-dissemination platforms, including the Specialized Automated Mission Suite (SAMS C2, ME Wired/Wireless), AOC-WS, Cursor-on-Target (CoT) Routers, Joint Range Extension (JRE), Streaming Media/Full Motion Video (FMV), HF Radio and RF Datalink feeds, Patriot Excalibur (PEX), Device Management System (DMS), and Aircraft Status Tracker (AST).
