We are seeking an Interventional Radiologist Physician to support the Veteran community in the Syracuse, NY area. This position is open to all candidates, including Locum or Traveling professionals.

Position Highlights:

  • Logistics:
    • Pay: $250+ per hour
    • Contract Type: 1 base year with 4, 1-year option periods
    • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. Rotating call/holidays
    • Location: 800 Irving Avenue, Syracuse NY
  • Requirements:
    • Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently, without sponsorship.
    • Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in allopathic medicine or osteopathic medicine.
    • Current license to practice medicine in New York State.
    • Board Certified per the American Board of Radiology
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
    • Previous experience with the VA is a plus

What does a typical day look like for the Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (Interventional Radiography)?

You will:

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. Rotating call/holidays
  • Direct Patient Care: 95% of the time involved in direct patient care. Contractor shall be responsible for:
    • Provide on-site clinical and on-call coverage for Interventional Radiology, including, but not limited to the following procedures:
      • Angiography,
      • Balloon Angioplasty/stent placement
      • Biliary intervention
      • Biopsies (CT guided and Ultrasound guided) including Lung, Liver, Renal, Lymph Node, Thyroid, Parotid, Bone, Bone Marrow, etc.
      • Central Line insertion/assessment
      • Chemoembolization
      • Dialysis access & related interventions
      • Drain/tube insertions and exchanges including Biliary, Nephrostomy, Chest, NU stent, Cholecystostomy, Abscess, Suprapubic, etc.
      • Embolization
      • Joint injections
      • IVC filters
      • Lumbar Puncture
      • Myelograms
      • Paracentesis
      • Radiologically inserted gastrostomy
      • Thoracentesis
      • Vertebroplasty
    • Administrative: Estimated 5-10% of time not involved in direct patient care

What qualifications do you look for?

You might be the professional we’re looking for if you have:

  • Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently, without sponsorship.
  • Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in allopathic medicine or osteopathic medicine.
  • Current license to practice medicine in New York State.
  • Board Certified per the American Board of Radiology
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Previous experience with the VA is a plus

If selected, candidates will need to complete credentialing and onboarding requirements consistent with VA medical staff processes.
