Openwork is hiring an experienced Forklift Operator for a manufacturing operation in Houston, TX. We're looking for a dependable, safety-focused candidate with strong forklift and material-handling experience who is interested in a long-term opportunity.
This position supports production by unloading raw materials, moving materials throughout the facility, and loading finished products for shipment.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Safely operate a forklift to move materials.
- Load and unload raw materials and finished products.
- Transfer lumber and materials to production areas.
- Stage materials according to production and delivery schedules.
- Perform daily forklift inspections.
- Check for leaks, tire wear, and equipment safety concerns.
- Safely handle and change propane cylinders.
- Coordinate with supervisors and production teams.
- Follow safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
- Maintain a safe and organized work area.
- Assist with additional material-handling and production duties as needed.
What We're Looking For:
- 2+ years of forklift operating experience required.
- Manufacturing, warehouse, loading/unloading, or material-handling experience preferred.
- Experience safely loading and unloading materials.
- Knowledge of basic forklift inspections.
- Experience with propane forklifts preferred.
- Strong safety awareness and attention to detail.
- Basic communication skills.
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively with a team.
Schedule & Availability
Regular schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.
Mandatory overtime and weekend work may be required based on company and production needs.
