As a Manufacturing Engineer Coating (VPS) in the Manufacturing Engineering department (Hot Gas Parts/New Parts) at the GE Vernova production site in Birr, you will provide technical support to both production and engineering teams. Through process and cost optimization, you will maintain the organization's competitiveness and drive results for our customers.

Job Description

What you’ll do

 

  • Own and manage the Vacuum Plasma Spraying process, ensuring full technical responsibility and operational compliance
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for process qualification, the management of "frozen process" changes, and the resolution of complex production issues
  • Lead the end-to-end development and qualification of coating processes, including the creation and maintenance of all necessary technical documentation and specifications
  • Drive strategic initiatives to optimize overall production performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC)
  • Mentor and coach junior team members to foster technical development and ensure the transfer of specialized knowledge
  • Analyze process capability using statistical data to identify optimization potentials and ensure long-term process stability
  • Manage the lifecycle of all internal post-casting processes for gas turbine parts
  • Support Root Cause Analysis (RCA/8D) investigations and lead the timely implementation of CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions)

 

 

What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications)

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent discipline or equivalent knowledge and experience
  • Proven knowledge of coating processes on precision-cast nickel-based superalloys
  • Experience in a manufacturing, operations, Hot Gas Path engineering environment
  • Demonstrated experience in at least one coating process such as VPS, APS or HVOF preferably VPS
  • Knowledge of Lean/continuous improvement methodologies
  • Good German and English skills, both written and spoken
