Intern-Sample Coordinator
Labcorp is seeking an Intern-Sample Coordinator to join our team at Shanghai, China.
Internship Details:
- Duration: 20 weeks, full-time/Onsite
- Dates of Internship: Nov 2026 – May 2027
- Compensation: Paid internship
- Eligibility: Final-year students who are expected to graduate in July 2027 are preferred.
However, students at all academic levels who are pursuing relevant fields of study are encouraged to apply.

Our bioanalytical laboratory network encompasses three core platforms: Large Molecule, Small Molecule, and Immunology & Immunotoxicology. We provide comprehensive bioanalytical support throughout the drug development lifecycle, spanning early discovery, preclinical and clinical PK/PD studies, biomarker analysis, immunogenicity assessment, and regulatory submissions worldwide.
Accredited under OECD GLP, FDA GLP, and NMPA GLP standards, we deliver high-quality, scientifically robust, and regulatory-compliant data to support critical development decisions. Internship Assignment Summary:
- Responsible for the entry and tracking of standards, blank matrix and samples. Performs a variety of sample accession responsibilities in compliance with appropriate SOPs and regulatory guidelines, in support of departmental operations.
- Performs any combination of sample accession tasks, including opening, entering, tracking, labeling, shipping and disposition of samples. Reviews sample inventory against samples to ensure accuracy and communicate discrepancies. Communicates confirmation of sample receipt to clients, if appropriate. Distributes sample information and paperwork.
- Solves problems independently, contacting internal or external clients for clarification as needed.
- Handles internal and external customer inquiries and requests.
- Responsible for upkeep, entry and accuracy of sample tracking systems.
- Certified to be an “after hours sample receipt” team member, as appropriate.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Communicates confirmation of sample receipt to clients, if appropriate. Communicates discrepancies to appropriate personnel.
- Certified as an authorized environmental system monitor and after hours responder, as appropriate.
- Reviews sample inventory against samples to ensure accuracy.
- Handles internal and external customer inquiries and requests.
- Distributes sample information and paperwork.
- Introduces and helps develop improvement ideas for the group, with senior personnel or Management.
- Reference standards and blank matrix management, as appropriate.
- Participates in client visits as needed, assists in communicating technical information.
- Maintains a clean and safe laboratory work environment.
- Certified to be an “after hours sample receipt” team member, as appropriate.
- Approved as an authorized environmental system monitor and after hours responder. Maintains the logbooks, if appropriate, for the department and ensures accuracy of information they contain. Completes all paperwork associated with the environmental monitoring system and units attached to the system.
- Prepare sample labels, as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current enrollment in a Chemistry, Biology Bachelor's degree program.
- 3 months or more experience using computer and office software applications (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent customer service skills including attention to detail, accuracy, confidentiality, and effective communication skills.
- Ability to identify and communicate customer service needs.
- Ability to use a variety of computer applications and proficient at the department specific software used.
- Excellent documentation skills.
