Responsibilities

Berkley Edge is seeking an inquisitive, detail-oriented professional to join its Claims team as a Claims Trainee or Claims Associate, depending on prior insurance experience. This developmental role provides hands-on exposure to commercial insurance claims, policy analysis, investigation, and professional communication. Key functions will include but are not limited to:

 

• Assist in the investigation, evaluation, and administration of commercial insurance claims.
• Review and analyze policies, contracts, and claim-related documents.
• Conduct investigations, gather information, and communicate with key stakeholders.
• Prepare claim documentation, correspondence, and coverage analyses.
• Maintain organized claim files and identify significant claim or coverage issues.
• Conduct coverage, liability, damages, reserve, and resolution evaluations.
• Collaborate across departments and comply with company and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in ongoing insurance and claims education and training.
• Following completion of the initial training period, manage an average assignment volume of approximately 20–30 new claims per month while maintaining timely, accurate, and appropriate handling of the overall caseload.

• Strong analytical, investigative, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to interpret contracts and policy language.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Sound judgment, professionalism, and integrity.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other business technology.
• Obtain required Texas adjuster licenses within six months of hire and remain current with applicable continuing education requirements.
• Successfully complete the AIC designation as a prerequisite for consideration for promotion to Claims Adjuster.

 

Education Requirement

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
