As a Senior Quality Assurance Automation Engineer, Guidewire, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, reliable technology solutions that support BCAA's insurance business. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll lead test automation efforts, drive quality assurance best practices, and help ensure an exceptional experience for both employees and customers. You'll also provide technical leadership and mentorship while contributing to the evolution of our testing capabilities and processes.

This is a hybrid role based on our Burnaby, BC (British Columbia) Head Office. Applicants who are not located within commuting distance of our 4567 Canada Way office and/or are not looking to relocate to BC will not be considered for this position.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks.
• Create and execute automated tests for functional, regression, performance, and load testing.
• Analyze business requirements, use cases, and technical designs to develop comprehensive testing strategies.
• Expand and optimize automated test coverage across critical business workflows.
• Perform manual testing when automation is not practical or cost-effective.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues within test environments and automation frameworks.
• Investigate production incidents and support root cause analysis activities.
• Advocate for quality engineering best practices, including defect prevention and early defect detection.
• Evaluate and recommend tools and technologies that enhance automation capabilities.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, vendors, and technology partners to support successful project delivery.
• Mentor junior team members and promote continuous improvement across QA practices.
• Contribute to business analysis activities and other projects as required.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in software quality assurance and test automation.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and developing test automation frameworks.
• Previous experience in a Senior or Lead QA role.
• Experience working with Guidewire or comparable enterprise insurance platforms.
• Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, automation frameworks, and QA best practices.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices.
• Demonstrated experience mentoring and developing junior team members.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Guidewire automation tools, including GT Frameworks.
• Experience working with AWS or other cloud technologies.
• Guidewire certified.

The salary range for this position is $103,816.92 to $129,771.24 and is determined via job-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, market demand and internal equity. In addition to base salary and BCAA benefits, this position is eligible for a performance bonus target of 9%, with the opportunity to earn up to 15%.
