About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on Injection Molding Process Technician to join a premier plastics manufacturing facility in the Lehigh Valley region.
In this critical technical role, you will be responsible for setting up, adjusting, and monitoring injection molding machinery to ensure process stability, minimize scrap, and maintain consistent product quality across production runs.
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Setup & Start-Ups: Execute mold changeovers, complete machine set-ups, and establish stable processing parameters for scheduled production runs.
- Process Optimization: Monitor molding operations and fine-tune process settings (temperatures, pressures, cycle times, hold times) to reduce scrap and improve efficiency.
- Troubleshooting: Rapidly diagnose and resolve root-cause mechanical, tooling, or process issues during active production.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect parts for dimensional and visual defects, perform routine quality checks, and document process settings and production data.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with maintenance and quality teams to log equipment performance and address recurring mechanical issues.
- Continuous Improvement & Safety: Maintain clean and safe work areas (5S/housekeeping) and assist with operator training to support team productivity.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience setting up, starting, and troubleshooting plastic injection molding machinery in a manufacturing environment.
- Technical Skills: Strong root-cause troubleshooting capabilities for process parameters, tooling, and machine faults.
- Quality Control: Proven ability to identify part defects, conduct visual/dimensional inspections, and maintain process logs.
- Work History: Stable, progressive employment history demonstrating reliability and longevity in prior manufacturing roles.
- Location & Shift Flexibility: Must be local to the Lehigh Valley region and able to work fixed 2nd or 3rd shifts (on-site).
Educational Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required (Vocational/technical training in plastics processing or scientific molding is a plus).
