We're seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and motivated full-time Speech-Language Pathologist to join our multidisciplinary school team serving students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to make a lasting impact while working alongside experienced educators, therapists, and clinical professionals who share your commitment to student success.


SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION:

  • On-site position, weekdays, 40 hours per week
  • Salary range $72,000 - $77,000/year (Salary/Exempt). 
  • Salary based on skills and experience.
  • Up to 8% annual bonus potential
  • 403b retirement plan with up to a 4% company match.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations to assess students' communication, receptive and expressive language, articulation, oral motor, pragmatic language, and related developmental needs.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and measurable goals that align with each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP).
  • Provide engaging individual and small-group therapy sessions using evidence-based interventions tailored to each student's unique strengths and needs.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, occupational therapists, physical therapists, psychologists, behavior specialists, nurses, and other professionals to develop coordinated, student-centered programming.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, Domain meetings, classroom team meetings, and other interdisciplinary planning discussions to ensure comprehensive student support.
  • Monitor student progress, maintain accurate documentation, complete evaluation reports, quarterly progress reports, daily treatment notes, and all required records within established timelines.
  • Develop therapy materials, communication supports, and classroom strategies that promote student success across educational environments.
  • Consult with classroom staff and provide ongoing coaching and training to support communication strategies throughout the school day.
  • Partner with parents, guardians, and caregivers by providing education, home programming, and practical strategies that encourage carryover of communication skills beyond the classroom.
  • Facilitate social communication groups and other therapeutic programming designed to build meaningful communication, social interaction, and functional life skills.
  • Stay current on evidence-based practices while helping foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where every student has the opportunity to reach their fullest potential.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

WHAT YOU BRING:

Education:

  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Current Illinois Speech-Language Pathologist License.

Experience:

  • Experience working with students with developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities, autism, or multiple diagnoses is highly valued.

Skill Sets:

  • Passion for working with children and young adults ages 3–22.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about to assist students, access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. 
  • The ability to observe details at a close range (within a few feet of the observer). 
  • Consistently position self to maintain files in file cabinets or assist students. 
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in all situations. 
  • The person in this position may encounter students exhibiting physical aggression; must be comfortable working in periods of crisis and feel comfortable de-escalating individually or as a team.
