Veterinary Medical Director – Houston, TX
A veterinary practice is seeking a Veterinary Medical Director to lead its clinical team while continuing to provide exceptional patient care. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced veterinarian who enjoys mentoring others, maintaining high medical standards, and fostering a collaborative, client-focused culture in a modern practice environment.
Key Responsibilities

Provide high-quality medical, surgical, and dental care for companion animal patients.

Lead, mentor, and support veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to promote clinical excellence and professional growth.

Establish and uphold medical protocols, quality standards, and best practices throughout the hospital.

Collaborate with leadership to improve hospital operations, workflows, and client experience.

Perform comprehensive physical examinations, diagnostics, treatment planning, and surgical procedures.

Educate clients on treatment options, preventive healthcare, and long-term wellness.

Ensure accurate and timely medical records while maintaining compliance with applicable regulations and hospital policies.

Participate in continuing education and support the ongoing development of the veterinary team.
Qualifications

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.

Active or eligible veterinary license in the state of practice.

Previous leadership experience preferred.

Strong skills in general medicine and surgery.
