Raytheon has an opening for an Associate Director, Contracts within our Advanced Technology (AT) / Advanced Effectors & Space (AE&S) Contracts organization, which focuses on key pursuits as well as development efforts that serve as the growth engine and front end of the business, critical to the future growth of Raytheon.
This is a unique and challenging role requiring contractual strategic and leadership focus on the execution of major development efforts as well as key competitive pursuits across multiple customers. Additional contractual strategic focus areas include areas of commonality across large development programs within the Advanced Effectors & Space (AE&S) Sub-Strategic Business Unit – potential execution issues, change management, and intellectual property. This role includes leadership of a Contracts team supporting the Alternate Missions & Space (AM&S) portfolio within AE&S, with direct supervisory responsibility for a team of six (6) Contracts professionals. Please note that this role is designated as onsite in Tucson, Arizona.

What You Will Do
- Provide visible, active leadership and collaboration with program and functional leaders in support of overall program success.
- Provide strategic guidance beginning prior to receipt of Request for Proposals (RFPs) and continuing through program execution – these activities include understanding contractual rights and obligations and possible mitigation of contractual/program risks.
- Guide and mentor team members on proposal and negotiation excellence, contract execution, and other contract support.
- Monitor, track, and provide escalation support during contract negotiations.
- Review Estimates at Completion (EACs).
- Support program management and execution reviews.
- Provide guidance and recommendations to senior management regarding contractual and business issues.
- Ensure that team members’ work follows company processes and policies.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field and 12 years of prior experience, OR an advanced degree and 10 years of experience
- Experience with U.S. Government contracts under the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and / or Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplemental (DFARS) and related government regulations and contractual requirements
- Experience managing, and building teams; related to leading, teaching and /or mentoring contracts professionals to success
- Active and transferable U.S. Government issued Top Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer
- Proven leadership in a complex, fast-paced environment, where prioritization and ability to adapt to changing environments and situations is required to be effective
- Demonstrated ability to develop effective relationships with customers and internal partners based on understanding, teamwork, and trust
- Effectively oversee a high volume of proposals and negotiations, coordinate program support, and effectively communicate status and help needed to internal leadership
- Ability to understand, quantify, and communicate contractual and financial risk
- Significant knowledge of contract formation with a broad understanding of risk, terms and conditions, and contractual mitigations while complying with internal policies
- Advanced Degrees such as Juris Doctor or MBA

The salary range for this role is 157,200 USD - 298,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
