The Assistant Buyer - Home supports QVC International, and provides essential buying and merchandising support to help deliver a compelling product range and achieve sales, margin and stock targets.
Where You'll Work
What You'll Do
Provide comprehensive administrative and merchandising support to the Buyer and Junior Buyer in developing product ranges within a specific category area
Collate and present product, sales and trend information, including support for key trading meetings, range reviews, vendor packs and event preparation
Manage the critical path to ensure product development milestones, sample arrivals, test reports and key dates are tracked accurately and communicated effectively
Liaise with suppliers on samples, product queries and post-show analysis, helping to maintain strong working relationships and smooth buying processes
Support the wider team with reporting, sample management, competitor analysis, meeting preparation and general departmental administration
Prepare and maintain sample libraries, product showcases and materials for presentations, promotions and cross-functional teams such as Marketing and Commerce Platforms
Produce weekly and ad hoc reports, present sales information to the team, and contribute observations and ideas based on market and competitor analysis
Raise and check product-related paperwork, support cost price change processes and help ensure products meet QVC safety and quality standards
What You'll Bring
Previous experience in a buying, merchandising, retail or administrative support role, ideally within a fast-paced commercial environment
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively, manage multiple deadlines and work accurately under pressure
Good analytical skills with confidence handling sales information, reports and key merchandising data
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across internal teams and with external suppliers
Strong administrative capability and solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office; experience using retail or merchandise management systems would be beneficial
A proactive, flexible and detail-focused approach, with sound commercial awareness and a willingness to take ownership of tasks and solve problems
