Do work that matters

As a Manager, Everyday Banking Finance, you’ll provide business performance information, financial analysis and commercial advice that supports strategic and operational decisions across the Everyday Banking Products portfolio.

Everyday Banking (EDB) is responsible for deposit products that help customers manage their day-to-day finances and spending, save for their goals and generate income in retirement. EDB is pivotal in establishing new customer relationships and provides a key funding source for the Group.

Working closely with business and finance stakeholders, you’ll help shape product strategy, evaluate business performance and support investment decisions for EDB products, which include transaction accounts, savings accounts, term deposits and travel related products.

See yourself in our team

Retail Banking Services (RBS) Finance forms part of the Financial Services division, led by the Group CFO, and partners with the business to deliver financial insights, forecasting, reporting and decision support that builds sustainable value for customers and shareholders.

You’ll join a high-performing team that works closely with product, strategy and finance leaders to understand performance drivers, identify opportunities and influence outcomes. Key stakeholders include the Everyday Banking business and leadership teams, GM Retail Products and the RBS CFO.

Your impact

You’ll:

  • Prepare and input into monthly performance reporting for Everyday Banking, including uplifting and enhancing our insights, processes and files.
  • Lead ongoing forecast and budget preparation for the portfolio, providing driver-based analysis to management.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders across Everyday Banking and Finance to ensure accurate reporting of financial results and customer impacts.
  • Deliver commercial insights and ad hoc analysis for key stakeholders (e.g. RBS CFO, GM Finance, EGM Product, GM Product), including input to the profit announcement and analyst briefings.
  • Provide regular financial and business analysis of the product portfolio, including insights into business drivers, market dynamics and the competitive landscape.
  • Support our robust financial control process by preparing and/or reviewing related deliverables, including journals and reconciliations.
  • Provide financial modelling and evaluation of business assumptions for investment initiatives, product launches and major business decisions, ensuring financial rigour is consistently applied.
  • Drive process improvement, simplification, productivity and AI initiatives across the RBS Retail Product team.
  • Help develop junior team members – including managing the analyst/graduate on the team, reviewing their work and providing timely, constructive feedback – and contribute to a customer-focused, high-performing culture through ongoing knowledge transfer of the quantitative and qualitative drivers of the portfolio.

We’re interested in hearing from people who have

  • Strong financial analysis skills honed in performance reporting, management reporting, forecasting, business partnering, transaction services, audit or a related area.
  • High-level proficiency in financial modelling and trend analysis.
  • Strong commercial acumen, a strategic mindset and the ability to think critically and solve complex problems autonomously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to present to senior stakeholders.
  • Strong teamwork capabilities and the ability to manage group tasks and multiple competing deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
  • Graduate qualifications in a numerate discipline, preferably finance, accounting, business or economics with a CA/CPA (completed or in progress) preferred.
  • Experience within financial services is advantageous but not essential.
