We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Laboratory Technician to join our newly established European Technical Center in Meyrin, Switzerland. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support R&D and product development activities within a dynamic international environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting laboratory testing, managing samples and materials, supporting technical documentation, and ensuring efficient laboratory operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical and electrical testing of products, components, and materials.
- Conduct and support testing involving high-voltage equipment (preferred experience).
- Perform additional thermal and environmental testing as required.
- Prepare, maintain, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and laboratory work instructions.
- Support the preparation, packaging, and shipment of R&D samples to internal sites and external customers.
- Manage laboratory inventory, including materials, consumables, test samples, and equipment.
- Coordinate sample receipt, registration, storage, and disposal.
- Track and manage sample reservations, requests, and deliveries to ensure timely availability.
- Maintain accurate testing records and generate test reports.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety standards and operating procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the laboratory and technical center.
Qualifications & Experience
- Technical diploma, associate degree, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Laboratory Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of laboratory or technical testing experience.
- Experience with mechanical and electrical testing is required.
- Experience working with high-voltage equipment is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of thermal testing and environmental testing methods is an advantage.
- Experience in SOP development and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with inventory management and sample logistics processes.
Skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with local and global teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken) is required.
- French and/or German language skills are considered a strong advantage.
