POSITION: Staff Accountant       

DEPARTMENT: Finance 

REPORTS TO: Director of Finance           

FLSA STATUS: Salaried/Exempt

THE ROLE

Performs the daily activities of the accounting function at the facility and as the Accounting Manager or Finance Director by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintains fixed asset detail records; performs account analysis.

  • Assists Director of finance in preparation of financial statements.

  • Perform variance analysis of financial statements to budget and prior periods

  • Enter A/R and A/P invoices, reconcile GL to detail aging.

  • Record cash receipts and disbursements.

  • Records journal entries for project accounting.

  • Record journal entries for revenue recognition.

  • Performs account analysis on general ledger accounts.

  • Onboard new union hires/ employees

  • Review I9 and payroll paperwork for accuracy

  • Performs any other functions delegated by Director of Finance.

  • Audits box office ticket sales reports and reconciles cash receipts.

  • Records parking sales per event.

  • Records food and beverage sales per event, audits month end inventory

  • Record merchandise sales per event, involved in inventory counts.

Education and/or Experience          

  • B.S. in Accounting or Finance from a four-year accredited college or university

  • 1-2 years of experience in a position with accounting responsibilities preferred

  • Or similar combination of education and experience

Skills and Abilities  

  • Thorough knowledge of financial and cost accounting

  • Excellent analysis skills and attention to details

  • Effective communication, interpersonal and organizational skills required

  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff including management and clients

  • Detail oriented

  • Ability to function independently with minimal supervision

  • Experience in MS Office, strong knowledge of Excel including pivots and VLOOKUP’s, knowledge of Dynamics or other ERP accounting financial reporting software.
