Job Description:
We are currently looking for a RAMS Engineer to join Hitachi Rail GTS in Portugal.
A RAMS Engineer is responsible for:
- Perform RAMS engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle in accordance with applicable railway standards and customer requirements.
- Prepare and maintain RAM Plans and Safety Plans, as applicable.
- Conduct Hazard Identification (HAZID) studies, HAZOP analyses and other safety assessment activities.
- Perform Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety analyses, including Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) and Event Tree Analysis (ETA).
- Perform reliability prediction analyses using Reliability Block Diagrams (RBDs) and FMEA techniques.
- Manage and maintain the Project Hazard Log.
- Identify, manage and track Safety Related Application Conditions (SRACs) and exported constraints.
- Prepare RAMS reports, analyses and technical documentation.
- Support project reviews and perform peer reviews of RAMS deliverables.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, Verification & Validation and other project stakeholders to ensure compliance with RAMS requirements.
- Support safety demonstration and regulatory compliance activities throughout the project lifecycle.
Technical & Professional Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Up to 3 years of experience in railway signalling systems and/or RAMS engineering activities.
- Knowledge of railway RAMS methodologies and processes.
- Experience performing FTA, FMECA, HAZID, HAZOP and reliability analyses.
- Knowledge of RAMS software tools is considered an advantage.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prepare accurate technical reports and documentation.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary project teams.
Standards & Qualifications
- Knowledge of railway standards EN 50126-1/-2, EN 50128 and EN 50129.
- Understanding of railway safety and system assurance principles.
- Fluency in English (mandatory).
- Portuguese language skills are considered an advantage.
