Description
ROLE OVERVIEW
To install, maintain, diagnose faults, repair, and service water pumps and pumping systems as the primary responsibility. In addition, the successful candidate will attend to preventative maintenance and repairs on steel roller shutter doors to ensure equipment operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform installation, servicing, maintenance, and repairs on water pumps and pumping systems.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults on water pumps and carry out corrective repairs.
- As an additional responsibility, attend to preventative maintenance and repairs on manual and automated steel roller shutter doors.
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance inspections on pumps and roller shutter doors to identify and rectify potential issues before equipment failure.
- Respond to maintenance call-outs and emergency breakdowns within required response times.
- Replace defective components and ensure repairs comply with manufacturer specifications.
- Test equipment after repairs to verify safe and efficient operation.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, service reports, and job completion documentation.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in a clean and serviceable condition.
- Provide technical advice and recommendations to clients regarding maintenance requirements and equipment care.
- Liaise professionally with customers and internal departments to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Relevant technical qualification or trade certificate will be advantageous.
- Proven experience installing, maintaining, fault-finding, repairing, and servicing water pumps and pumping systems.
- Experience with preventative maintenance and repairs on steel roller shutter doors will be advantageous.
- Good knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read electrical wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work overtime and attend after-hours call-outs when required.
