Overview
The Tax Monitoring Specialist will play a critical role in servicing the Bank’s loans secured by real property collateral. The Specialist has contact with governmental tax offices and frequent contact with other employees in all lines of business within the Bank. The Specialist acts as the main point of contact on property tax monitoring and remediation.
What You’ll Do
- Contact governmental agencies, vendor personnel, and/or customer team to obtain current property tax information as needed
- Proactively identify, assess, classify, and mitigate real estate collateral risks related to delinquent property taxes
- Ensures data accuracy in system of record as related to collateral identification
- Collaborate with the Customer team to resolve property tax delinquencies related to our collateral properties
- Communicate with relationship managers, credit partners, vendor personnel, and others, as appropriate, to ensure bank is properly protected
- Provide on-going support to internal partners, as needed, for property tax questions
- Monitor property tax reporting and take appropriate action in a timely manner
- Responsible for the tracking and daily monitoring of vendor reports for all consumer, mortgage, and commercial loan property tax activity; takes appropriate action in timely manner
- Review and validate the timeliness and accuracy of delinquent tax designations
- Assist relationship managers on property tax due diligence items in a timely and accurate manner
- Adhere to Corporate and Loan Operations policies and procedures as prescribed
- Exemplify behaviors in alignment with the bank’s vision, mission, and culture; exhibit professionalism at all times
- Provide world-class service to internal and external clients with a sense of urgency and positive attitude
- Demonstrate exceptional organization and time management skills and ability to balance competing priorities to meet multiple deadlines
- Compliance Training: Participate in all required compliance training, including Bank Secrecy Act/anti-money laundering training, as well as internal and external training programs, online training, meetings, and seminars/conferences, etc.

Requirements For Success
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with retail and commercial lending regulations and policies
- 1 or more years’ experience related to loan and collateral servicing and monitoring
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are required
- Ability to think critically and solve problems with guidance
- Knowledge of federal and state banking regulations
- Extremely organized and detail-oriented with ability to handle multiple priorities and complete tasks/projects to meet deadlines
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Ability to effectively communicate with lenders and LOAs in all lines of business
- Preferred Skills:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in business or a related field
