Surety Bond Account Manager
Job Summary
Seeking a dedicated and experienced Surety Bond Account Manager to join a growing regional surety team. You will manage an established book of business, collaborate with leading surety companies, and work alongside experienced producers and surety leadership. This position is ideal for professionals with agency experience or those transitioning from a carrier-side surety underwriting assistant role, looking for greater career growth and client-facing opportunities.

Responsibilities
- Maintain technical competence and industry expertise.
- Collaborate with the Surety Director and Bond Billing AAM to ensure timely and accurate task execution.
- Provide exceptional customer service, handling policy administration, billing, claims, and coverage analysis.
- Manage policy expirations, renewals, and client relationships.
- Conduct client research, prepare submissions, negotiate coverages, and present proposals.
- Monitor accounts receivable and collect outstanding balances.
- Maintain agency management systems and carrier/vendor platforms with accurate data.
- Handle bid bond requests, changes to bonds, cancellations, riders, and new business/renewals.
- Create and distribute client invoicing and assist with claims facilitation.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with underwriters.
- Continuously seek and adopt best practices to improve performance.
- Communicate workload status and issues transparently with the account team.
- Deliver excellent service by proactively anticipating client needs and responding promptly.
- Stay updated on company policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate integrity and leadership while championing company values.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in surety, commercial insurance, or related underwriting.
- Experience with contract and commercial surety is preferred.
- Agency or carrier experience is welcomed.
- Surety underwriting assistants are encouraged to apply.
- Property & Casualty License required or ability to obtain shortly after hire.
- Proficiency in agency management systems and carrier portals.
- Strong decision-making and delegation skills.
- Exceptional customer service, communication, multitasking, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to handle large work volumes with high accuracy.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- High School Diploma (or equivalent).
