The job

The Workday Platform Specialist - Integrations is responsible for the operational management, support, governance adherence and continuous improvement of the organisation's Workday integration landscape.

As the primary point of contact for Workday integrations, this role ensures integrations are secure, compliant, properly documented, and aligned with platform standards. The role will build and maintain integrations and work with our AMS provider to co-ordinate the delivery of more complex solutions.

The role also works closely with HR, IT, Finance, Works Councils, and third-party providers to coordinate integration changes, manage operational issues, support audit requirements, and maintain effective stakeholder engagement.

 

Key responsibilities 

Integration Governance & Ownership

  • Own and maintain the Workday Integration Log, ensuring all integrations are accurately documented and actively managed.

  • Responsible for our Inbound EIB Catalogue ensuring each EIB’s purpose is clear, input templates and validation reports are available, and API versions are kept up to date.

  • Ensure integrations comply with established design standards, naming conventions, documentation requirements, and data protection principles.

  • Maintain visibility of the integration landscape, including ownership, dependencies, support arrangements, and associated risks.

  • Ensure integration documentation remains accurate and up to date.

  • Identify opportunities to improve integration governance and controls.

Operational Support & Incident Management

  • Act as the primary contact for Workday integration-related queries and issues.

  • Partner with the Operations team to develop their capability in troubleshooting basic issues.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues where appropriate.

  • Escalate high-complexity issues to third-party support providers and coordinate their resolution.

  • Manage relationships with external support partners to ensure effective service delivery.

  • Monitor integration performance and identify recurring issues and improvement opportunities.

  • Communicate updates and resolutions to stakeholders as needed.

  • Provide support for Workday security and reporting queries to ensure coverage for the wider team.

Integration Delivery & Change Management

  • Take the lead on new integration requests from first demand through design, testing, deployment, and post-implementation support.

  • Assess requests and assess the most appropriate delivery approach, whether internal development, configuration, or third-party delivery.

  • Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and support solution design activities.

  • Ensure all integrations comply with security, governance, and data protection requirements.

  • Support testing, deployment, release management, and transition into support.

  • Ensure documentation and operational support arrangements are in place before go-live.

Compliance & Audit

  • Execute and maintain SOX controls relating to integration monitoring and job failure reviews.

  • Monitor integration and background process failures, ensuring issues are documented, investigated, and resolved.

  • Maintain evidence required to support internal and external audits.

  • Ensure integration processes comply with applicable data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements.

  • Support audit and compliance reviews as required.

Works Council Engagement

  • Support and maintain effective working relationships with Works Councils and employee representative bodies.

  • Ensure Works Councils are appropriately informed and engaged regarding integration changes and employee data flows where required.

  • Assess Works Council impacts during integration change activities.

  • Ensure integration changes remain aligned with Works Council agreements and commitments.

  • Support consultation, governance, and approval processes where required.

Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong partnerships with IT teams responsible for enterprise integration technologies, including MuleSoft.

  • Develop effective working relationships with Finance Technology teams and stakeholders responsible for critical connected systems.

  • Act as a key liaison between People Technology, HR, IT, Finance, and external providers.

  • Promote effective communication and collaboration across business and technology teams.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve integration monitoring, governance, operational processes, and service performance.

  • Develop expertise in Workday integration technologies, including EIBs and Core Connectors.

  • Contribute to the ongoing maturity of the People Technology integration operating model.

  • Support the development of standards, best practices, and operational procedures across the Platform Enablement team.

 Essential requirements

  • Deep experience supporting, administering, or managing Workday solutions within a People Technology, HR Systems, or HRIS environment.

  • Understanding of integration concepts, including APIs, file-based integrations, middleware, data transfers, and system interfaces.

  • Experience troubleshooting technical issues and coordinating resolution with internal teams and third-party suppliers.

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • Experience working within governance, compliance, or audit-controlled environments.

  • Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience maintaining documentation, operational processes, and controls.

Desired skills and competencies

  • Experience building or supporting Workday integrations, including EIBs and Core Connectors.

  • Understanding of Workday’s integration development stack architecture and capabilities.

  • Understanding of Workday Configurable Security concepts, roles, security groups, and business process security.

  • Understanding of Workday reporting fundamentals, including custom reports, report sharing, and report troubleshooting.

  • Knowledge of SOX controls and audit requirements.

  • Experience working with Works Councils or employee consultation processes.

  • Understanding of data privacy and data protection principles.

  • Experience supporting global HR technology platforms.

Hybrid working

We work in a hybrid way at AVEVA. Most roles are based at a local AVEVA office, with an expectation of being on-site 50% of your working hours to support collaboration and connection. Some positions are fully office-based depending on the nature of the work, and certain roles that support specific customers or markets may be remote.
