Description
A well-established and growing plaintiff-side personal injury practice in New Jersey is looking to add an experienced attorney to its team. This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer who enjoys having ownership over their cases while working within a collaborative environment with strong administrative and legal support.
The attorney will handle a varied personal injury caseload and have meaningful responsibility throughout the life of each matter, from the initial stages of a case through settlement or trial.
The Opportunity
The ideal candidate will bring 2+ years of personal injury experience, preferably on the plaintiff side, along with the ability to independently manage an active caseload. The firm provides a well-supported environment with paralegals, legal assistants, and other team members to help attorneys focus on case strategy, client relationships, and results.
This position would be particularly attractive to an attorney who wants a combination of autonomy, strong support, and long-term growth potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle a personal injury caseload from initial intake through final resolution
- Develop case strategy and evaluate liability, damages, and settlement opportunities
- Take and defend depositions and participate in mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings
- Prepare and review pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents
- Negotiate directly with insurance carriers, opposing counsel, and other parties
- Maintain regular communication with clients and provide updates throughout the litigation process
- Work closely with paralegals and support staff to keep matters organized and progressing efficiently
- Pursue favorable outcomes through settlement and, when necessary, litigation
Ideal Background
- 2+ years of experience practicing personal injury law
- Plaintiff-side experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated litigation and negotiation experience
- Comfortable managing a significant caseload with limited day-to-day supervision
- Strong writing, communication, and client-management skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Active New Jersey Bar admission required
- Spanish language skills are a significant plus
